Clouds like sails of ships

Piled atop one another

Wrecked in hidden tidal rips.

Would you have stopped if you’d known?

Would you have turned back, furled

Your wings and never flown?

Not you: given endless ships more

You’d fly before the wind

Seeking every aching unknown shore.
