Tawdry anus! I don’t think I could critique that one straight-faced either. And, having earned a BA in creative writing, I think I’ve met a few anuses (ani?), tawdry and otherwise, in my classes. I’ve considered an MFA, if only for the reasons stated — that I’d finally get published — but I can’t seem to force myself back into the mold. Instead I’m out here stomping around in the world, gaining experience and richness and stories, writing madly and getting very little attention. But at least I can do better than tawdry.
