Thank you for bringing awareness to Vodu's spiritual and ancestral roots. I lived in Guinea for a short time, and noticed the heavy Christian and Muslim influence. The same is true in Alaska, where I grew up--the native culture there is so permeated by Christian and Russian Orthodox religion that there's little left of their original belief system. Placing our awareness on the injury done to Spirit--the human spirit, and the divorce between us and the earth's spirit--is maybe the first step in healing the rift. As for the rift between races, it can't be crossed without this crucial step of respecting one another's practices.
